BAS Wizard is a sophisticated Microsoft Excel spreadsheet that guides you step-by-step through the process of preparing Business Activity Statements for your clients. BAS Wizard has been the central pillar of certification services offered by ABN since 2001 under the old Section 251L “working under the direction” laws and, since 1 March 2010, has been developed further to cater for the new BAS Agent Laws.

When Should I Start Using Version 9?
 
We recommend that you start using Version 9 immediately (subject to one exception as detailed below), although it is not compulsory if you are lodging activity statements for the period ending 30 June 2010 or earlier.

Please note, however, that Version 9 will be compulsory for all activity statements for the period ending 31 July 2010 onwards.
 
In What Circumstances Should I Not Use Version 9 immediately?
 
There is only one. If a particular client has acquired, in the June 2010 quarter or earlier, a motor vehicle for greater than the luxury car limit of $57,180, you should continue to use Version 8.
